Historical Interest
As guests “mill around” the beautifully landscaped Mill Street grounds, they will discover many items of local historical interest. (1) a working water wheel reminiscent of the original water powered grist mill, (2) a 9 foot hand carved stone trough from a local farm house built by a veteran of the War of 1812, (3) a collection of wooden forms from the local Cree Foundry used to made cast iron pieces, (4) vintage hand cut foundation stones and massive hand cut stone stairs, (5) many unique architectural salvage items have been incorporated into Mill Street, including the store counter from the original Sunbury Ohio hardware store, a carriage house door from a fine 19th Century Cleveland mansion, doors and hardware. Keep your eyes out for all of the interesting historical pieces at Mill Street.
